The theme for this year's Anniversary, "PNP...Onward to Logistics Transformation" presents a formidable challenge to the Service. The strategic framework of the LSS towards logistics transformation is in consonance with the Chief PNP's policy thrust to make the Philippine National Police into more capable, effective and credible Police Force in the service of the Filipino people.
To date, we have introduced a dynamic but proficient management system that aims to primarily accomplish our mandate in procurement, assets inventory and accounting, vehicle maintenance, disposal of unserviceable assets and improvement of basic services.
For one, the LSS innovated the posting of sticker tags on the unit's physical assets during inventory and accounting according to standard Color Evacuation Priority - the Red (1st Priority), the Blue (2nd Priority) and the White (3rd Priority). As we envision a better accounting of the PNP physical assets, we also started the issuance of a laminated ID-size acknowledgment receipt (ARE) of firearms within the LSS.
For another, we initiated the publication of the LSS Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) in an effort to widen and broaden the reach of information to those who deal business with. Incorporated in the volume is the Preventive Maintenance Procedure as a handy reference in vehicle maintenance. Although in its infancy, the publication is a prelude to the call for transformation. As aptly put by the sages of old, "A milestone begins with a single step."
Surely these initiatives will not end up in the shelf as we all strive to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of basic services to the PNP. In like manner, we expect all units and personnel to be guided by the initiatives we undertake in their legitimate and official business transactions with the LSS.
